Of a post-Christmas friday.

mood: sneezy

My cousins and tito's and tita's were in our house yesterday to celebrate Christmas. Aiza brought her baby named Ella. The baby was so much like Gracielle. Thank God. Long story. Anyway, it was really fun bashing Adrian. (kaya sa susunod sumama ka).

And then had a nightcap with some of the kadets. Thanks for the company and the gifts.

Don't forget panget.

Of eotf 2005

mood: cough-y

Wow. As in wow. That was a very very tiring day. I thought I was going to die due to the events that had happened.

First off, work. Wait. What work?

Eotf time. So I met with Janice (she's old but she doesn't know how to commute, boo-hoo. hehehe) and we went to Mcdo. There were quite a number of Php-ers when we arrived. I really had to ignore all the hirits against me. And it was successful. Thank God. So, to all the people out there who are going to say or do anything against me. Think twice.

Entered Mcdo with the name Rickoh (with matching action yan). Hufflepuff has the noisiest table (second place goes to Slytherin and the other houses who had tapes on their mouths). The only person with the unwrapped gift for the exchange gift. I was the lucky charm (kapal!) for our house during the games. The two games that I joined were won by our house. I guess I could say that I should have won the ADHD award if ever there was one. Bashed the people that I love to bash, namely Cherie, Thom, Joa, etc. Got re-elected for prefectship (sadly for our house). Had a corny speech for our house, and thanks to Joa that she didn't pin me (that was a good one Cherie. Really. I had to cover my virgin ears that time). Looked stupid on certain parts of the program. The unsorted members looked like they weren't that happy with the event (hehehe). Thom's High and Dry performance was great (Radiohead rocks!). And our game wasn't that bad (sorry if the words were that hard, we should've practiced it first to determine if it could be feasible for the event, thanks to Edwin since he got it right). And then Janice and I went to Cubao to fetch my mader.

You see my friend Janice recently had the itch for Harry Potter. She is now a Harry Potter-natic. She bought a chocolate frog candy on our way to Shopwise.

We were kinda late so my mom was getting angry at that time. And to my clumsiness, i've dropped the bag with a jar. Thank God Janice was there. Hehehe.

After homebound, enter Glorietta bound. Yes, I have to go back to be with Criscel. So, G4 was closed but Mcdo was still semi-open. Got the exchange gifts. This one is tricky. Criscel got my gift. I got a gift from somebody. And Janice got her gift back. Criscel chose to keep my gift. And i chose to interchange my gift with Janices'.

Criscel and I proceeded to Hard Rock Cafe. Met with the La Salle Pips. We can't stay that long with the gang so we just drank a bottle and proceeded to Gilligan's. And thanks for the grilling guys.

Went to Gilligan's with the other Php pips. They drank the night away. Talked about television shows to the max. And I almost went wild with the staff. They charged us with food and drinks that we didn't even buy or order. Thank God we have Dj Ponsy with us. She has a gift of patience. Imagine, she told the waiter to change our receipt twice.

Dropped Cel at her house. Went home. Lights out.

Thanks to the people who gave me gifts.

Die to the neighbor who sang with a smile.

Of more shocking chuvas.

mood: sleepy

Okay. The title should have been 'Of a 3 weddings and a funeral'. Scrap that. Nobody cares if Sen. Robert Barbers is dead. May he rest in peace.

Anyways, about a week ago. I got a surprise news from a Lasallian friend. He's gonna get married. Again, you like stag party?

So that's one wedding.

Next, it was kind of an old news. A Lasallian friend and a choirmate is going to get married next year. This was not new news to me since if I remember correctly I was the culprit why this news broke out with our choirmates. Hey, it wasn't my fault. Blame her mom.

I guess that's two.

Now, just last weekend another choirmate announced that she's engaged. What? One more? C'mon. Due next year.

And that's three.

So, we were all telling ourselves that at least "Isahang practice na lang.".

Not to be that mayabang but when the Villarica choir plans a wedding we act on it smoothly. From the music (obviously) to the reception we can do it by ourselves. We are that efficient.

And minutes before posting this, I just had another shocking news.

Sorry to the Kadets if I missed our mini-Christmas party. I hope you guys understand.

And i'm so sad that i've missed Ate Kristine's wedding (again?). Sayang ang picture with the Juan Dela Cruz Band.

Of a weekend puyatan.

mood: sleepy

First off, i'll be extending the jqq up to Christmas day. So, you have a lot of time to waste to answer the jqq.

Now, i'll try to remember what happened to me last weekend (including Friday).

So, last friday our company had the usual annual Christmas party. The usual suckiness of the event took place again. This would be a very long entry but i'll just place the rave and rant(s) here.
- Where is our freakin' 13th freakin' month pay? I should've bought some gifts already.
- Record: Drank two bottles of beer. (technically it's 1 bottle and 1 can).
- No freebies for everybody. A company who earns million every year should at least give some grocery or something to every employee every Christmas. C'mon.
- To the host: try to wake up.

I'll stop here. Too many reclaims on my part.

So glad that Saturday came. Met with panget and had some insightful things at Astoria with the "coolest" orientors. It was really nice to be with these guys again. Here's my take last Saturday.
- Shocked with Glennda. The previous shygirl type had a 180 degree turn to a party girl. Just a reminder, if we say "party", it doesn't mean that you have to come in a tube (hehehe). You are overdressed man. Just come in your very casual attire. We are there to bond, not really to party.
- A big congratulations to my friend Dek. He is now engaged. Ey, when is our Stag Party?

Why is it that a member of the Bozanian army getting married while the Voltes V members are older than them?

And Sunday with the choir (or what's left of it)...

Thank God for Kristeen's birthday party, met with the oldies again. The air got green, my fault. I just hope our exchange gift would push through and I hope you guy stop relating yourselves with the Pinoy Big Brother Season 1 members. Yuck.

Supposedly, this should be a very long entry but... It's tuesday already.

Of a Christmases thoughtses

mood: sleepy

Some tips and thoughts I thought of or will do this coming Christmas:

- Throughout the year i saved all the twenty five centavo coins in a small container. I never (almost) used it for my daily spenditure. This is the time of the year where carolers will receive eight 25-centavo coins. Hehe. Let's see if they would still come back tomorrow. Good for them I won't be using my collection of ten and five centavo coins.

- To all the people that would receive gifts from me or almost. If ever you won't receive anything from me this Christmas and I promised you one, then you'll receive one in the near future. You just have to remind me though.

- This is quite contradicting. They say that you need a wish list this Christmas but you also need to give love this Christmas day. Ano ba talaga?

- In all honesty, I don't need any material things for now. I even made a very simple wish. I'll post it below. So, if ever you are planning on giving me anything this Christmas. Think twice. Make it cash.

- Why is it raining? This should have happened last month. Damn you god of rain. Whoever you are.

- Why is it that people are so busy buying things and shit? I mean Christmas is up to January 8 (yes, yes I know up to January 6 only but the rulebook states that it should be the first Sunday after New Year).

- I still feel that Christmas nowadays is so materialistic. But for me, I got what I want for Christmas already. Non-materialistic.

- Too bad I won't be able to complete the Simbang Gabi (I can't call it Dawn mass or Rooster mass. We celebrate it during seven in the evenings). Maybe next year...

- For my super simple wish list:
1. The cheapest cellphone. As long as there aren't any battery problems and compatible with a sun sim.
2. Leather shoes (not that cheap and not that expensive)
3. A maong pant (isa lang e.)
4. Da Vinci Documentary on vcd.
5. Game of the Generals board game.
6. Pugad Baboy 18
7. The Hobbit.
8. The complete Narnia vcd.
9. Punching bag.
10. Boxing Gloves.

- For my real list:
1. Cure for my mom's illness.
2. A new job.
3. Brain food for the common tao.
4. Happiness for everybody.
5. World peace (sabay - wave...)

Of a mind full of angst.

mood: dunno

Don't you hate it when you want to say all the things that you hate to a person and can't do it due to the fact that this person's iq and eq are low? I'm not killing the personality of the person and i'm not judging the person. But you would always knew what would happen if you do some harsh things.

I mean if this happened to you that you confront this person, are you sure that person is going to fight back equally? I don't think so.

I usually avoid confrontations. Well, actually it depends on the situations. Some people just can't accept their fault because it's true. And that is reflex of a homo sapien.

I just want to say my piece sometimes but it would really show that i'm not using my head if ever that happens.

And I should tone down, sometimes, on my personal views and points. I really should.

Anyhows, self-control really helps in the end.

Just thinking out loud.

Para sa masa...

I just got a copy of the latest "e-heads" album. Well, it's a memento album or a cover album or whateveryoucallit kind of album. I would say that i liked the album. It would be really better if the group re-united and came out with a live album of their past songs. THAT i would really love. I would like to react on each song but I write that on a different journal.

Some reactions:

- Glossy inlay card.
- Too many pictures of un-eheads.
- The cd case acted weird. Like it's preggy.
- Who the hell is isha?
- Why did Paolo Santos, Isha, Orange and Lemons, and Kitchie Nadal contributed on the album? Why? Why? Why?
- Francis M's take on Superproxy is... weird.
- The cd is too pricy... and where are the freebies?

Watched Paparazzi earlier at Sm Megamall. I felt I was robbed of my almost-a-hundred-buck ticket.

The movie plot is quite interesting. After thirty minutes of viewing un-pleasure, I can't help my lazy eyes in falling asleep. It was as if I watched a three-part miniseries of a certain known american tv series that's running for quite a number of seasons and people are just waiting for the end episode.

Well, it wasn't really that sucky. Seeing Chris Rock, Mel Gibson and Matthew M (can't spell the last name) as Easter Eggs is enough. Well not much. But still.

In addition, digital movies are also sucky. Such as this theatre in megamall. You can really notice pixels. It is as if you are watching a movie in your computer or a badly copied vcd clear copy.

No. I don't hate people. I'm not that type of person. I don't offer grudges. My soul takes aim on that. I don't want to have any worries afterwards.

Of a Hp Gof reaction.

mood: sleepy

I guess this is the right time to react and comment about the premiere last Saturday.

People might kill me but somewhere in the movie I found myself with Dawson and Joey. I just thought that this looks like a long episode of Dawson's Creek (or Smallville) and I just have to slap my face and tell myself. Dude, this is HP. Okay?

The things that I missed: the house-elves; veelas; some members of the Weasleys; longer World Cup match; the Sphinx!; and some spells.

More comments:
- I wish Snape could have been more visible in this movie since he would be a catalyst on book 6.
- Making Neville a part of the movie is cute. Especially when he danced. Gawd.
- Ginny Weasley. The actress who played her part should be replaced when book 6 comes. hindi bagay.
- Awesome acting by Radcliffe and Fiennes. And Fiennes looked like his previous role on The English Patient.
- The flight attendants are not stricking enough for the male audience.
- Ron and the twin's antics are really hilarious.
- The face of the godfather.
- I didn't expect Dumbledore to be that energetic.
- Moaning (pun intended) M's flirting to Harry was very eye-popping.
- Did you know that the band who played at the ball is a band named Radiohead?

More comments tomorrow probably. It has been four days and i'm quite sleepy.

Gossipers suck.

I lost a part of my molar yesterday while eating kalabasa (dunno what kalabasa in english, semi-pumpkin? nah...). Okay. How did that happen? I really don't know. Maybe because:

Reason 1. A soft kalabasa can chip your tooth.
Reason 2. I have a bad molar. I really should lessen killer-calcium substances.
Reason 3. I will lose all my teeth by midnight.
Reason 4. Witchcraft perhaps?
Reason 5. A sign that I have to go to the dentist. It has been almost a year since I last visited one.
Reason 6. Chipped molars are cute.

Anyway, I'll post the winner for the jologs quiz later. And the answers.

And to make matters better. I'm starting to plan for my life. I just have to plan carefully about everything. I just wish lady luck would help me with this one. Wait. I wish the God almighty would help me with my life. I just need it fixed. I just hope I'm not THAT late.

To the people who sent their answers on my mail, I haven't checked it yet. So, if you feel like changing your answers, go ahead. To be clear, the winner will go to the person who answered all the questions correctly and at the same time the fastest.

A friend of mine suggested some prizes for the quiz. She told me that she would finance the soy suce, suka, toilet paper, etc. I told her not to do it. Diba Naja? You really crack me up with that one.

I had two events for the past few days.

The first one is the Php Halloween Ball held at the Hard Rock Cafe last Saturday. It was fun. Cessie and I almost won the acting contest. I think the people doesn't really want to see seriousness on the stage. Congratulations to fafa Beejay for the Best Costume Grand Prize.

And yesterday we (some Php pips) gatecrashed a SWP event. Meann said that as long as we have our robes on we can enter the event without any problems. So we did. Thanks to the SWP pips for the free billiards!

Before proceeding with the sample jologs questions, I just want to rant on something.

Please listen to the two sides of the coin before reacting.
Please remember that most of you doesn't really know me. I don't really care on how you react on things. This is just a reminder.
I'm telling you that I'm an open-minded person. Please tell me directly things that you hate or what you don't like about me. It would be better this way.
I just hate it when I'm the last one to know about things that should be kept private.

To the readers, please don't react on this one.

Anyway, on with the test? quiz? whatever...

Okay, the quiz goes on like this: 10 questions per week. All the ten questions will be posted on a Sunday or on a Monday. Last day of submission of answers will fall on a Saturday. Answers from the previous week will be posted with the new set of questions. All answers should be sent to my email address: targrod@gmail.com. If it bounces, just tell me right away (you can post it here on my blog, you can text me, you can call me at my house, you can send a snail mail, you can just go out of your house and shout "Jay-r!!!! Na-send ko na!!!!!!!!!!").

If you have any quetions, reactions, comments, negative vibrations, angal sa pagtaas ng gas, palm-reading, dream interpretations... dial 1-800-WALA-AKONG-PAKI. Okay? Or you can just post it here on my blog.

Of an idea.

mood: happy, extremely

I just came up with an idea. To make my blog less interesting (it was wwaaayyy less interesting), i'll place a contest in my blog weekly.

It goes like this, as a true green-blooded jologs person i'll place ten questions every week regarding jolog-ism. It doesn't necessary mean that the items are super-jologs-or-not but most of the questions are. The day would start every Sunday or Monday and end on a Saturday.

Determining the winner: Simple, the person who answerst the questions completely and gives the answers to me the fastest wins.

Prize: You get a free bati in my site. Actually, I am still thinking about this. But one idea came into my mind. You get a free audio cd from me. You have to get it on my list that i'll be sending on your mail.

Now. Who wants to join? If nobody is interested then i'll scrap this na lang.

"You don't fall in love because you fall in love; you fall in love because of the need, to fall in love. When you feel that need, you have to watch your step; like having drunk a philter, the find that makes you fall in love with that first thing that you meet. it could be a duck-billed platypus." - Umberto Eco's Foucault's Pendulum

mood: drunk
movies watched the past week: the mummy retuns; corpse bride; the last castle; may; serendipity; alice in wonderland; nick of time; patriot games; lord of war; star wars ep. 2: attack of the clones; pay it forward; doom

My mom would always tell me: Alam mo ba nung ganito ganyan "insert story here". Wala ka pa nun. Nasa dulo ka pa lang ng patpat...

All these years I thought that this was just a long-standing hirit by my mother.

I'm used to her useless answers especially when I ask a lot of questions, example:
Me: Ma, bakit kayo aalis?
Mama: Kasi "insert reason here"
Me: Bakit?
Mama: Kasi nga "insert reason here"
Me: Bakit?
Mama: E bakit ba ang kulit kulit mo?
Me: Bakit?
Mama: Dahil sa ukit.
Conversation stops.

Moving on I just recently found the answer to that patpat hirit. I won't bother explaining here what it means. You just have to be an open-minded person to identify the truth.

Anyways, Happy Birthday to my wonderful papa. May you have more birthdays to come (eh?)!

And that unexpected visit really surprised me.

Of a Komikon 2005 happening.

mood: sleepy
movies watched the past week: the mummy returns; corpse bride; the last castle; may; serendipity; alice in wonderland; nick of time; patriot games; lord of war; star wars ep. 2: attack of the clones; pay it forward; doom

Went to U.P. Bahay Ng Alumni last Saturday for the annual Komikon (-vention?). As usual, I went there to support Beerkada and the Artists' Den.

I’m sorry to the Beerkada pips if I wasn’t able to help out with the booth. I’m busy with some parts of my life and I have things to do first and I have so many alibi that I should stop now. Ika nga sa isang kasabihan “Pag puwede maraming paraan, pag ayaw maraming dahilan”. There. I really hope you guys understand.

I could say that the place was somehow full packed even though that it took place at U.P. I’m quite used to the Megamall Mega Trade Hall experience. Where people do really rub elbows. I wonder why Komikon is in U.P. this year…

Okay. I’m sorry to L if I’m not sure if I would still get that boxed set that I reserved from him. You see, I won a Beerkada boxed set courtesy of Ingkang Jinky’s contest. I really thought that I won’t win that contest but to my surprise I got the third place… err… third prize… err… whatever. There were three boxed sets up for grabs and I got the third one. I would like to add more reactions and comments from this boxed set experience but I wouldn’t dare to write it here. Now, regarding that reservation. I’m not so sure if I would still get it. I have to ask my confidante.

This is the first time I’ve seen Manix, the Kiko Machine guy. It was quite un-expecting for me to see this guy because he doesn’t look like the person who would make such comic. And he looks like someone from DLSU.

I also got some of Lico’s products. I’ve read his stuff and I would join his group (e-group that is… oh my, I sound like Yoda here… wait… what if Yoda is voiced by Imao? that old dude from the Encantadia fame… that’s nice).

And shout-outs to all the beerkadets and the Artists’ Den pips that were there, you know who you are.

After the event, the B-sisters and I went to watch Doom at Robinson’s Gale. The movie contains a lot of gore. Yes, gore. I found the gore acceptable in my own point of view. Meaning I wasn’t grossed out. The movie is quite interesting even though that the story is recycled. There was even a part ala-fps (first person shooting) mode wherein you’d be the hero of the movie. It was unexpected but cute. I find The Rock’s persona stupid. He doesn’t seem to have that kind of logic even though he was given a command post for his group. And one more reaction, why is it that the movie has the title Doom? How come there are references to the Quake game. For instance, The Rock used a BFG (Big F**king Gun) in a certain part of the movie. As far as I can remember, there’s no BFG in Doom. Anyway, cross-reference or not, the movie is quite exciting somehow. Why? I didn’t fell asleep.

Oh. The B-sisters kept on giggling on that Chicken Little guy. Gosh.

> Aratilis tree - I would remember that these trees or some of them would be made as a tambayan. It is fun to pick aratilis fruits from their trees.
> Haybol Rambol and Kate and Boogie - Channel 7 shows. Haybol Rambol star Benjie Paras while Kate and Boogie stars Dennis Padilla and I forgot the name of the girl.
> Multi-sided two pesos coin - I forgot if its sides are hexagonal or octagonal.
> The famous Family Computer - Oh yes, computer games were quite simpler during those times.

Of a mother and son session.

mood: happy

Usually when I go to work, I bring my mother along with me along with the car because my mom needs guidance (long story) when going to work. And when we have a road trip we usually have the usually mother and son conversations. Here's the usual convie (as in today):

Uno:
Crash Test Dummies' Mmm Mmm Mmm starts to play.
Me: "Ma, maganda itong kantang ito!"
Mama: "Ano yan?"
Me: "Basta maganda na yan. Luma na yan."
Music starts...
Mama: "Pangit naman."
Me: "Basta maganda yan. Hintayin nyo yung chorus!"
Enter chorus...
Me: "Mmm Mmm Mmm Mmm..."
Mama: ",,," Continues with her rosary prayer...
Me: Laughing.

Dos:
As part of our morning diet when going to work, we usually listen to Chic and Del's conversation. I forgot the Hot Ten topic and I could only remember one of the answers. It deals about depression on controlling things.
Anyhows, my mom started the convie again:
Mama: "Ganyan talaga pag ang tao depressed. He/she tends to control thing na yung kaya nya lang. Kaya usually naglilinis yan, etc."
Me: "Kaya pala malinis kayo ni Papa."
Mama: "Kaya alam ko din na hindi ka depressed. Ang gulo ng kwarto mo palagi e."

Tres:
After dinner, we had the usual after dinner convie (I think the topic was about having children):
Me: "Alam mo ma, wag muna kayong kabahan. Baka after 8 years pa kayo magka-apo."
Mama: "Aray ko."
Me: *smirk*

So... we should all be happy eh?

10.11.2005

Of a story-telling time.

mood: sentimental

I made a story. Wee!

There was this old man who lived in a shoe. He loves batteries so much that every time he buys one brand of battery only. Then one day, he went to the battery store and looked for his usual battery. To his dismay, he found out that the store is not selling any batteries of that kind of any more. In fact, the production of that battery ceased to exist from that day on. So, the vendor told him to buy a new brand of battery. The old man was hesitant at first but he had no choice (well he had choices but he just chose the one given to him by the vendor instead). At first, the old man didn’t like the battery. In fact, he hated it to its guts. But eventually he liked it or something in that sense. And the batteries and the shoe house and the old man lived happily ever after. That includes the ducks, the bees, the rhinoceros, the duck-billed platypus, and the now extinct dodo. And don’t forget the Yakult vendor, the Tukneneng vendor, and the Electrolux salesman.

So, what’s the moral of the story? Never attempt to make a story out of nowhere it makes this blog ridiculous.

Just finished reading Robert Ludlum’s Apocalypse Watch (the same author of the Bourne series). It was a long but nice Nazi book.

In addition, here’s an excerpt of a typical Trinidad family dinner:

We were eating and everything about Gateway Cubao came up. Eventually it led to the topic of movies at Gateway.
Papa: “Minsan nanood ako dyan ng sine sa Gateway…”
Me: Butting in “May 300 pesos na sine dyan.”
Papa: “Hindi, mas mura dyan. 120 pesos…”
Me: “Farmer? Anong farmer? Siguro ang theme song nung movie yung ‘Magtanim ay di biro’.”
Mama: “Mali. English yung movie. Dapat planting rice…”
Me: “Pwede din yung butter-butterfly…”
Papa: “Yung movie kasi nangyari sa may Uganda (or Rwanda I can’t remember exactly).”
Me: “Baka yan yung Hotel Rwanda…”
Papa: “…”
Me: “Alam ko na!!!! The Constant Gardener!!!!!”
Mama and me laughed…

Everybody needs to be loved sometime (or forever, whatever you like).

Of a disastrous entry.

mood: woah!

I believe that the recent disasters in the world are caused by bad karma. Take New Orleans for instance. Or better yet the United States of America. Look what has happened to them. A very bad series of natural disasters hit them when they were not ready. Especially the first hard-hitter that took New Orleans in despair. Okay, what famous activity takes place in New Orleans? Mardi Gras. I think that answers my own question. In addition, U.S.A.'s recent disasters, remember Iraq's long-term invasion by the Americans? I rest my case.

Around thirty thousand or more people are killed by a monstrous earthquake, which came out of nowhere. Mostly Asian countries like Pakistan and India. How about these countries? They are war stricken. They have these nuclear devices. Thank nature for that.

So, what's next? North Korea?

Looks like The Philippines is in line too. Have you ever been to Boracay during the holy week? Heh. I hope i'm wrong.

Thank God I had a series of good movies lately. Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children. Rain Man. Platoon. Schindler's List... and the latest, The 40-year old Virgin.

That virgin movie is really hilarious. Even though that the plot is not deep it gave the audience a good dosage of laughter. From the start to the end was enlightening for the movie goer. So, what are you waiting for? Watch Paul Rudd's ass now!

I think this is the week where I would finally have watched 20 movies. And I would just tell myself "Get a life.".

Okay. My life’s not entirely exciting lately. I accept that. Maybe, that’s how the circle of life grows on me. I miss the time when I’m anticipating something or even expecting.

Honestly, I am excited with a few things in my life that I wouldn’t ponder. I’m just enjoying it for the moment. I believe it is better this way or is it? I really don’t know.

Moving on. I passed by Cubao’s Gateway (I call this place Galaxy and I do not know why) and there was crowd near circling the Pizza Hut area. I was wondering what’s the fuzz in that area. I didn’t really care if whoever was there. So, when I finally talked to my mom about this she told me that the newly crowned Miss International is in the area. And I didn’t really care. Pity to the entire star struck (not the tv show) crowd. I really just don’t get it sometimes. Do we really need to crowd the area for these people? I know she’s the new Miss International but… I just can’t explain. Maybe, we all have our own tastes on being star struck to certain celebrities.

I noticed that MRT changed its fare rates recently. I’m not sure if they still offer the Php 9.50 rates. I think that is a wise decision for them in expense of the riding public. Imagine, if I buy a 100 peso stored value ticket and rode certain stations that costs 10 pesos nine times and the 10th ride costs Php9.50. So, I should still have a 50-centavo for my stored value ticket. Now, it is different. One-peso intervals have been made. Too bad.

An update to DLSU Asst. Manager Manny Salgado's back-punching incident. He gave an apology and at the same time the UAAP board gave him a lifetime ban in the UAAP. For me, that's ok. I think he deserved it. Everyone has a choice and he chose to be a sore-loser. Sorry Lasallians for this comment.

On another lighter note:

DLSU should have won the game. The final score should be 76-75. 3 points kasi yung batok ni Salgado kay Arwind.

We went to the hospital today. Brought my mom due to high-blood pressure. We cannot bring her to any hospital or clinic because of her allergies. And actually, she had high-blood since lunch time wherein I had to go on a half-day too to bring her home. Thank God the doctors in this shift are better than the ones that we had before. It only took us around two hours before we went home.

My mom's okay. I think.

Of a food entry.

mood: semi-depressed

Just wanted to share this deluftouous treat from Nescafe (neskape):

Cocktail (hehe) Banana Cooler

Ingredients:
2 pcs. Banana Lacatan, sliced
1 305ml. Milkmaid Rscm
2 cups water
1 tbsp. cocoa powder
1 tsp. Nescafe Classic
shaved ice (ha? shaved? is it possible, use rubie II blades for better perfomance)

Procedure:
Put all ingredients in a blender jar. Whisk for about 5 minutes or until frothy (kulay puti daw). Pour into individual tall glasses (paano kung dwarf yung iinom?)

And have you guys heard that french fries from fastfood chains in America are now labeled with a medical warning? They found out that these tasty treats cause cancer.

There goes my hamburger meal.

oh yes... i lost my fun mojo again.

9.25.2005

Of a long Saturday.

mood: tired
movies watched the past week: house of flying daggers; closer; john q; i am sam; heist; children of the corn; hide and seek; anak ni janice (hehe); mary poppins; one tough cop; confessions of a teenage drama queen

This entry could be a long one. So, bear with me.

Okay. I had to go to two different events yesterday and thank God it was a success. Another "thank God" for making the two events possible for me to get through.

Let's go to event number one: Kai's post-birthday treat.

I hate Greenhills. Promise. It really is hard to look for certain place in that area. I just have to stick with my kutob skills to get to my destination. Well, it's kutob and basic instructions for me, I just want to be clear. So, off I went to Greenhills and looked for Promenade. Gusto kong sumayaw ng Promenade para lumapit sa kin yang Promenade building na yan. Eventually I got to Gerry's Grill in one piece and saw the humongous beerkadet group. Err... humongous? Only three of them were there: Kai (+ the boylets), Kevin, and Ilenz. So, I was kind early this time. I just found out that Lyndons' late habit has expanded to its readers. Thanks a lot, man *snicker*. Eventually, a few more others came after around an hour or two. At least, we didn't have to wait for you guys or i've been dead by now. I made my escape at four in the afternoon.

Notes:
> The Tingler thingie. I guess i'm the tingleman? Doesn't sound right.
> The certain person bashing hour.
> The jellybean conspiracy. Tip for eating a multi-flavored jellybean bunch: eat 5 pieces at a time to avoid certain flavors.
> Thanks to Jinky-tanda for the Beerlenium book (I am istil enthralled noh for giving me that.).
> Thanks to Paula for her beans.
> Thanks to Kai for the wonderfulicious treat. Sa uulitin? har har.
> Thanks to Naja for the debede. Is this trade permanent? *wicked, bad, evil grin*.
> Thanks to beerkadets and the not-so for the company.
> Thanks to Lyndon for the... nah...

... yeah yeah... the commemorative Leandro Voldermort Phallus 9000 broom drawing.

Lastly, the second event: Soundzskool (insert echo here 6 taymis.) in Ultra.

Pre-program, met the Coms group plus the ampon... err...the fifth man (now, we can be called the Bioman... we are red napkin 1, green minded 2, blue balls 3, yellow floater 4, and pink... *you know what* 5.) at the Mega. The B-sisters tried our stalker skills but it didn't really work that much. Too bad for them. Hehehe. Don't forget Beejay's follow-up for that. We were actually going to leave you that time, good for you you've shown up. We also ate the worst Jollibee food ever, the newly released Pinoy Bistek Burger. Yuck.

Entrance proper, a very long line for us to be part of but we were quite lucky because Criscel is the leader of some punkista group. So, we were able to cut the line. Around 500 plus people were cut off. Thanks to her. Really. I would say that this event has the best security that i've ever seen. Big bouncers everywhere. Military police with high-powered guns. It was war. Luckily for us with good social stature we were able to enter Ultra without any hassles. Well, in my case, they confiscated my precious pedicure paraphernalia (my nipper and nailcutter). It was very nice to hear their gay gestures to me. I accepted it with wide arms and legs. Don't forget the free radio that was given to everybody (i think.).

The program started with A-series-of-unfortunate-jokes Juddah Paolo and I-swear-these-are-real Karel Marquez as hosts. They sucked as hosts (that includes the floor director, the sound director, and the director). And the sucky hosts also announced the winners of the Nescafe gift packs. To our group's luck, Criscel and Beejay won. Thanks to Beej for the milk came from you *snicker*.

And the nine finalists are composed of nine different colleges and universities (they were represented). And the schools are:
DLSU - Firelane. (who placed second in the Texter's choice award, and the first goes to another DLSU band. Thanks to the DLSU haters out there. Animo La Salle!) Who were not that good.
Kalayaan College - Hilera. A contender for the top spot.
ADMU - I really didn't remember the name of their band for obvious reasons. Boo.
St. Jude College - Carpie Diem. A good Bamboo band. Anothe contender for the top spot. Could win it.
CSB - Wake Up Your Seatmate. Tried an Alanis classic. Should've played a Loeb instead.
JRU - I forgot the name. Sorry. Ala-club Dread band.
MAPUA - Kidja. Nice suit. Too bad for them. Thanks for the compli tickets though, c/o that girl.
CEU - Uhm. Did they play?
UA&P - Selling Side Mirrors. That Dingdong classic really worked for them. With matching full force crowd and the only school with a mascot. How nice. And another strong contender for me.

Before announcing the winner, these are the artists who performed (songs in bold are my fave, some of the for the moment only):
ORANGE AND LEMONS - Hanggang Kailan, Pinoy Big Brother Theme Song, and another one song that i've forgotten. I really swear i've heard Rico Blanco sang.
CAMBIO - DV and 2 other songs. Why did Ebe begged to sit down from this set?
KAMIKAZEE - Chiksilog, Darna Theme Song, and Chinelas. Jay is the real Energizer Bunny. Tinalo na niya si Chito sa showmanship, well... muntik na.
SPONGE COLA - Gemini, Klsp, and Jeepney. I wub gemini.
SUGARFREE - Burnout, Mariposa, Prom, Kwarto, and Hari Ng Sablay. Oh my God. They came. Kahit hindi gwapo si Ebe, I wanna have your baby!
HALE - Broken Sonnet, The Day You Said Goodnight (Goodbye... hehehe), Fix You (Ooo... Coldplay!), and Kailan Pa. When the vocalist is pogi, the crowd loves the the band (especially the teenage girls and the not-so).
PAROKYA NI EDGAR - The Yes Yes Show, Mang Jose, and Buloy. Buo na ang gabi ko, tumugtog na sila e.
BARBIE ALMALBIS - Money For Food, Tabing Ilog, and Nescafe Theme Song. At lalo pang nabuo. She rocks!
KITCHIE NADAL - Same Ground, Wag Na Wag Mong Sasabihin, and another song. U-huh. I heard she's a tomboy.
and BAMBOO - F.U., the devil song?, Mr. Clay, Noypi, Kung Ayaw Mo Wag Mo, Nescafe Jingle, Masaya, and Halleluyah. A grand entrance. But they are still late.

The Sari-sari fashion show was unnecessary. They should have just dressed the performers in Sari-sari fashion and all. The latest coffee from Nescafe is good. Real good.

And the winner is Hilera. This could be the most anti-climatic ending i've seen. They won. The band was wasted. The hosts are wasted (since the start of the program). Combine both factors and you'll see an embarassing ending. Too bad Carpie Diem lost, maybe their originality wasn't that original after all.

Post-program, we all went home after a quick snack at the Star.

Lights out...

Of a-reminiscin' II and then some.

mood: sicky

I just remembered...

- Chezels, Chickadees, and Daimos chiz curls: i love these especially the toys that comes with each pack.
- Old Fiesta Carnival: who would forget their famous uhm... do they have one?
- Panini stickers: i am an avid fan of these stickers. up until now. kinda... my last one is an Nba stickerbook.
- Tira-tira and sundo't kulangot: so sweeeet!
- the Mt. Pinatubo ashfall: when everything turned white.

and here are some one-liners from the recently concluded first round elims of the radio idol.

- Mallrat = rot inside a mall.
- Sung by ano.
- Personal peyborit (in a call-center accent).
- I'm lost with my scripts.
- Patis... tutti frutti flavor.
- Manila's hattest...
- The secan (second) among four brothers.
- The song from 50 cents.
- Somebody said this: "... definitely have what it takes to be a radio idol!" and then she was stinged as "not worthy!"
- Two tattoos... both in the back.
- Hi! I'm ... from the world you wanna know.
- That was boyz II men with on bended knees.
- Hi! my name is and i'm your friend (uy close tayo a).

Will be going to the soundzkool later...

Of a saguijo sa guijo.

mood: dizzy

It was really nice to see the coms group again plus Carl. We went to this "underground" place in Guijo street Makati. The place is called Saguijo (to anyone who came up with that name... very, very creative *snicker*). I remember the time when I went to this art bar in Ortigas called art - something. Same concept. Anyway, Luna's (yep, the same Luna ~ Paraluman Cruz) band is really good. The group was asking me if I had a problem or if i'm getting bored at that time. Reason: I was starting to get sleepy and the music made me sleepy.

I guess this would be all for now. I just lost my fun mojo again.

9.22.2005

Of a very unlawful experience.

mood: very irked

fuck the police. fuck the traffic officers. fuck graft and corruption.

9.20.2005

Of a regime that never ended.

mood: err
movies watched the past week: the phantom of the opera; final destination; wisegirls; annie; one missed call 2; don't say a word; dumplings; deuce bigalow: european gigolo; the point men; in america; the grimms brothers

It really is sad that Marcos will be placed at the Libingan ng mga Bayani (or so i heard). Even the fact that he will be placed there is a big disappointment for me. It is like declaring Hitler or Mussolini as war heroes. I just don't get the Filipino way. We forgive and forget easily.

In addition, Gma and Imelda are friends??? Is this an extension of the era where democracy is a fallacy? I don't think so.

I just want to vent it out here. Sorry friends.

I wasn't able to add these things at my post yesterday:
- Do not use panasonic batteries.
- It took us 58 kilometers of road trippin'.
And I forgot to add the Hardener joke. It goes like this:
We were talking about jobs or something in the sense of occupation of people. And as usual, the Mr. Butt-in in me said, "Buti hindi sya naging hardener.". For a few minutes, everybody agreed with me. Then Bing said, "Ano yan? Pinaghalong hardinero at gardener?". Laughter after. That hirit came out naturally.

And earlier at the morning rush, Chico said that the english of Upo is Ups and Patola as Patols. Panalo talaga.

Of a Batangas trip: Epilogue.

mood: nosy

Even if I lacked precious sleep...
Even if I'm cash-strapped (or so)...
Even if I know they'll interview me about something...
Even if I have to miss that La Salle game...
Even if I was absent at a birthday party...
Even if I wasn't able to help our house...
Even if I wasn't able to finish watching the House of Flying Daggers...
Even if the idea of being stranded because of the weather...
Even if my father is sick...

Now, that's a lot of excuses. I could even add a few more but I know the idea is there.

So we (Bing and Joy, Dek and Ella, Eyen and Lod) had a birthday trip last weekend. We went to Balai sa Laiya in San Juan, Batangas (ok. it wasn't Balai, Batangas or Laiya Batangas as previously mentioned to my friends and family). A few others failed to show up due to the following reasons: heart-ache and work.

I believe I have to make-kwento na lang the trip in my p.o.v..

Okay, so we left Manila at 830 in the morning while listening to the Morning Rush. I was so disappointed that time because I wasn't able to listen to the last day of the elims of the Radio Idol. But it doesn't really matter. And while waiting for Dek, i've seen Jojo (a Lamb Core) and I know he knows something that he thinks I don't know but I know what he's thinking and it really didn't bother me if he knew what was it. And off we went.

In the vehicle, the usual hi's and hello's and how's your lovelife came up. I wouldn't ponder much on this part of the trip. Anyway, I really think that the mp3 revolution is here. 2 (or was it 3) of the people that are in the vehicle has an mp3-man (an mp3 walkman...) and I had my usual dose of mp3's too (i'm using old school. cd-mp3 player with 9 hours of pure unadulterated music). And I loved the birthday boy for doing this: he drove for three hours straight. I've noticed two more things when we were traveling. I've finally seen the De La Salle-Lipa campus (and that huge Lyceum campus too!) and the increase of the gasoline price everytime we enter a different city or province.

After the trip, the place. The things that I liked about the resort are: corteous staff, the design of the place, the buffet table, and "first-class" restrooms. I guess the only bad thing that I can say about the place is actually not the place itself but the road pointing to the place. It wasn't cemented and I believe that's 2 kilometers worth of bumpy-ass ride.

As Lod said "Ang bagal talaga ng oras dito." It was quite true. We were really killing time there. We've managed to be like pigs during the first day because the activities that we did that time was sleep and eat. And then eat and sleep. And before anything else, I used again my extra senses to choose which rom is better for me. And I chose room number 4. It was quite frunny. As you see, for obvious reasons, Dek and Ella and Bing and Joy shared respective rooms because they are couples. But on our part, Eyen and I ended up on a same room. The thing is Lod is queer and it would be more feasible of Lod and I or Eyen and Lod shared the same room. I think this is a Puerto Galera hangover. Actually I was really scared of Eyen during the sleeping hours because having the idea of her raping me is a horrible idea (just kidding eyen... hehehe). And before lights out, I had a bottle (or less) of SML.

Second day came and I woke up at 4 in the morning. I don't know why. I just woke up. I went to this area where I would be waiting for the sun to rise. I've managed to finish the book that I'm reading for quite some time (around a year?) and got some quiet time for myself. This is really a good place to relax and meditate. It was refreshing to see the sun rise and grabbed a few Vit-d's myself during the process. 8 am came and we went swimming. The water was clear (somekinda) during this time. The water turned dark during the afternoons (and nights maybe) and I don't know the natural occurence of that. During swimming, i've almost drowned and my swimming skills really kicked in. It's about survival man! And then we went home at 2 in the afternoon.

During the two days that we were there, i've learned the following things:
- There is a place called Aroma Magic Cream and beach and resort.
- Joey Lina's actual last name is Magdangal. (I need the email for this. Paging Lod or Eyen!)
- Even a dessert vendor (the one who sells espasol, macapuno, etc) can be very persuasive to the point of beating the skills of a call center outbound agent.
- The buffet table is for everybody. It is impolite to bring the dessert on our table. There might be other guests around.
- Making fun of a 27-year old soltera is really F-U-N.
- Never eat a lot of fish. I might puke after.
- Patience is a virtue. If you weren't able to buy a pasalubong near the place where you had your vacation, look for a Colette store in a gas station.
- Every gas station along the SLEX stretch has a coffee store.
- Dogs are kind in Batangas.
- People really wake up early in this side of the Philippines.
- A simple life doesn't necessarily mean that they are technologically helpless. Cellphones are able to be seen in this part of the country.
- Always bring medicine.

...and during the entire 2 days, 1 night vacation... nature excused us from the rain pestilence.

Thanks to Dek Tinawin for this trip. Even if I doled out a part of it from my wallet, I tell you pare, the trip is really worth it. Galing nyo talaga ni Ella. Lupit nyong maghanap ng place. Sa uulitin! Oh, and advanced happy birthday to you dude. You're 25 years old already, kelan ka maga-ala Naguit?

Thanks again to the Balaiya-ers: Dek, Ella, Bing, Joy, Eyen, and Lod. I really had a wonderful time with you guys. Hopefully, expectedly?, more trips like these in the future.

Welcome back, reality!

Of a Batangas trip: Prologue.

mood: excited

I haven't had any sleep much for the past few days. I have to get back to my usual sleeping schedule.

Bought some dvd's (closer, i am sam, house of flying daggers, & mary poppins) yesterday. Also, I bought a pair of shoes because I really need some rubber shoe overhaul.

And then, i'm off to Batangas.

An update: I am really upset right now. My father is sick and he did something very Robin Hoodly. God help us.

9.16.2005

Of a calendar of activities mode.

mood: somekinda awake

Okay. This is going to be a round weekend for me. Including some days next week.

I'm considering Friday a part of my weekend dose. So here goes:

Friday --> I have to watch the latest season of Survivor (or was it Amazing race?). I wish it would be interesting so that I have something to wait every week. Then, I have to meet the dvd guy for the dvd's (isn't it obvious?) after work. I believe I would get good copies because i've already bought a few titles from him.

Commercial: Dumplings Three is one the sickest movies i've seen so far. It literally made me grossed out. To the point of puking and losing my appetite.

And then, I'm going to give Cessie my application to SVI.

Saturday --> I'll be in Balai, Batangas. Wherever that is. I really don't know where they are taking me. I'm going with the La Salle pips by the way. This is a two-day affair. So, i'll be back on Sunday. I hope nothing bad would happen. Having the rain omen is not good.

Monday --> I need to go home early for my criminal case.

Thursday --> Same with the activity on Monday.

Sadly, I won't be able to go to Macy's birthday and Php's Board game activity. Promise, I'll make bawi next week for the basketball shoot-out and the quidditch demo game if it would push through.

I just found out that there is such a thing called Hershey's balls.

Okay. I won't upload the image of the strip. Instead, you have to click THIS. Check it out.

And also, to anybody who's kind enough to share their latest yahoo messenger, please contact me. Please? I can't download it in my pc.

Now i know the meaning of soltera, thanks to ivy...

Of a beerkada extra trial version.

mood: still sleepy

I want to add my beerkada guesting strip but I believe I still have some problems with the image. I'll try to post it here soon. My first attempt didn't work. Gotta edit it again.

Grabbed a 10th place hot 10 finish yesterday...

9.13.2005

Of a few thoughts VI.

mood: cold

Sports news first.

Manny Pacquaio won against the clean-fighting Mexican, Velasquez. It really is fun and exciting to see to people beating each other to the point of blood oozing from their faces. And wouldn't it be nicer when this is shown during lunch time. Morales really sucked, good for him... and us.

Regarding the DLSU-UE issue, what's new. Ever since I entered college, the UAAP board really hated La Salle's guts. The Cortez issue. The Cardona issue. The Arana fight issue. The Gaco issue. And more issues in the past (gotta get some tissue *hikbi*). And then this issue. The funny thing is some members of the UAAP board are not even familiar with the basketball rules. I have nothing against with the other schools but why pick on La Salle? And I just don't get it. They didn't even answer La Salle's question "Did Coach Franz call a timeout?". A matter of yes or no question. And they answered or. (for the anti-la salle pips out there. hello!)

I heard Agassi lost to Federer. I should have seen that game.

And I hope Alonso wins this Belgian (am i right?) lap. I read that he didn't get the pole position. Damn!

Another and, to the Php badminton players, sorry if I wasn't able to play. I was also looking forward for this game. Sayang!

Regarding music, radio idol's back!

It was the first day yesterday and my mom and me was laughing during the process of the first day of the first round. Some of them were really hilarious. There wasn't any noticeable boo-boo. But if I could remember one, i'll surely post it here.

Will get the dvd's later. I hope it wouldn't rain as hard as yesterday.

I think I lost my fun mojo.

9.11.2005

Of a timaua night out.

mood: still sleepy
movies watched the past week: kwaidan; super size me; superbabies: baby geniuses 2; monster-in-law; sinbad: legend of the seven seas; my boss's daughter; peter pan (2003); the big bounce; red eye; the fighting temptations; ong-bak; alexander

This one will surely be going for the books. The story was like this, the Coms group along with Mr. T and Celena ate dinner at Mcdonalds last night. We were a bit hungry because we haven't eaten yet due to the play by Celena (or sumthin' like that). While dining, we had our usual chit-chats and laughs and then there was this usual pairing by the B-sisters to Bj. Cessie said "Ako legal wife nya." after the bit with Criscel. And then I suddenly had the urge (and did it) to say the following words to Mr. T, "Ikaw naman legal shocker." Man, that really was a classic.

Okay. When was the last time i've seen a play live? Well, I really can't remember. Maybe, way back in college. I think it was the Anatomiya of something-something. Finally, after a few years, i've seen another one. Courtesy of Celena. The play was entitled Timaua.

Before going there, let's tackle the "experience" before the play.

I've decided to bring (okay... it's drive to the wise-asses out there) my car (that's not my car it's our car) to the venue. The play is located at the U.P. Diliman campus so I really need to bring it along because I have no idea how to get there (and vice-versa) in one piece. So, the Coms group met @ Sm Mega and then... off we go. It was still hot when we were traveling and I felt an omen coming during this time. Alas, I had an overheat. I really would like apologize to the Coms bunch for the delay and the car. It was really a hassle for everybody and I was really embarassed with what happened. I just don't want to go to U.P. in a puv basis. I really find it hard especially during the night to travel to certain places.

Still. Before the play. So, I know that God, now, is guiding us during all this time (read: overheat). And when we arrived at the site. I really thanked Him. We went up to the second floor and it hit me. U.P. buildings are really filled with spirits and elementals. I swear. Everywhere I used my line-of-sight i felt them. Even inside the theatre. Thank God i'm not the only one with that "power". Even Criscel has one too. And her was far worse. *laugh*

Anyway, about the play. I just found the first part interesting. Even though that there are some minor flaws: buckling (nag-ba-buckle), stuttering, and low projection of voice. Kudos to the Tikbalang person (mabuhay ang mga bakla!). Regarding the second part, here's my reaction: I really wish that you guys should have shown an episode of MKM or MMK.

The 80 bucks was worth it. Really. (I'm still expecting a 70 peso rebate. hehe).

Oh. Another thing. Here's a shocker for the conservative (like me). Before the start of the play the announcer went on like this: Mahigpit po naming pinagbabawal ang pagkain, paninigarilyo at pagtatalik sa... A what? Did I hear that correctly? And yes, it was it.

Wow. That was a night. I guess it was a night to remember. To the Coms group, it was really fun. Alam nyo na yun.

And sadly I wasn't able to play badminton today. Something came up. Sorry to the Huff pips and, I guess, the Gryffs too. For us to default the game. Sorry again.

Leah's extra spag sauce and cheese at Mcdo really worked! Try it!

9.10.2005

Of a map mode.

mood: dizzy

How do I get to U.P.? I need some help. Help! I really need a map of the U.P. campus.

I'm feeling the bad feeling again and it seems it hasn't happened yet. I just wish there was a way to find out what it is.

I really want to scream. As in scream "SCREAM!". I need to release this foreign energy.

Badminton game tomorrow... I hope we win.

9.08.2005

Of a pink eye.

mood: creepy

The coms group, once again, had a night out. And this time we went to watch a movie. At first, the sisters wanted to watch that hunk, Ledger boy, but I told them I would like to watch the hot chick, Mcadams (kapatid ni Mcdonald). Oh hot chick, Mcadams was in that movie. Anyway, the movie was really short. Here're my comments:

*Again, the movie was really short.
*The story was hanging. C'mon, are they planning a red eye 2? The antagonist was shot but we didn't see him die.
*The story has no closure. What happened to the foreign bad guys? What happened to Batman?
*It wasn't clear who wants to kill who.
*Why the hell did I watch this movie? An above average rating for the American audience and yet the movie doesn't classify there. And yes, this looks like a B-movie.
*I didn't like Mcadams dress. They should fire their costume designer/s.
*The trailer is better than the movie.

I guess we should have watched The Longest Yard or Klein's new movie or Manny P.'s kamao film. This is a better-to-see-in-dibidi-movie.

Malls should change the price for the movie entrance? It's way too expensive. I expect in the future that movie houses would close eventually.

What happened to the hot 10 lately? No list last Wednesday. And yesterday, I can't relate with the alcohol topic. Oh my.

I really would like to post something here, but I can't do it...

9.07.2005

Of a-reminiscin'

mood: zzzzz

I just remembered...

- Bow-biters: remember this? the gadgets that helped you with your shoelace when you were little.
- Baseball caps: remember the 6 stitches under the cap? it means that its original.
- Game & watch on wristwatches: i remember i used to borrow my classmates watch just to play that racing game.
- Micro Machines: the generic; temperature-based car changes color; etc, etc
- Pinoy Games: Piko, Patintero, Syato, Black 1-2-3, Agawan Base, Langit Lupa, Kickball, Step No, Tumbang Preso, Taguan, Mataya-taya, etc. <-- ang sarap maging bata noon!

I might post more of these in the future...

9.05.2005

Of a finished weekend.

mood: still feeling bad

To all the people who've watched a or some or all of the movies show on the J-horror Eiga Sai festival: go here for the sypnosis of all the movies.

The COMS group, after the Badminton game, went to the Shang (again? for the third straight day) to watch an 8 pm movie, which is Kwaidan. It was three hours and we were all expecting that it was worth the wait. And to our luck, another old movie. Good God. To my luck, l've managed to survive a three hour movie with my muscles aching at the side and mr. sleepy head calling out my name.

A snapshot from the movie Pulse

I have (a) new movie/s to look for. Tomie 1 and 2. Really.

To the person who had my day bright (<-- sarcastic remark) yesterday. I hope you understand that you really need to control your temper. I'm still trying to figure out if I can really forgive you (insert smiley here).

And to the other person: if you can read this right now. As i've said, I don't want any fights anymore. you know the consequence for that. 'nuff said.

Y? O Y?

Acknowledgement: Thanks to L for the pix.

9.03.2005

Of a movie week-end(?).

mood: irked
movies watched this week: dodgeball; joe's apartment; matchstick men; the three musketeers; white chicks; the new swiss family robinson; finding neverland; yotsuya ghost story; the ugetsu story; hot shots; haunted school; tomie: rebirth

This was a hell of a week. I think i've tired my eyes so much that i'm going blind while watching a lot of movies. Yes. I would like to call this the movie week.

Now, have any of you heard the "festival" Eiga Sai (Or Egai Sai for me). A Japanese movie festival of some kind. And this year the theme for the festival are all about horror movies. So, happy me, i've actually planned for this event for more than a month. In fact, I was trying to make-aya everybody to watch those Japanese movies. And I was in luck because my Php friends wanted to watch these films also. So, Wednesday came. Cessie told me that the Wednesday showing of the first movie @ the Shang is purely invitational only. So, I told them that let's move it on Friday (and at the same time we could talk about the upcoming Badminton game/s). So (hey! a bunch of so's here), we started to watch it on Friday @ 2 in the afternoon. And then, the movies:
--> Yotsuya Ghost Story = an old movie with an old horror concept. I swear Nginig has a better story than this one.
--> The Ugetsu Story = Oh my God. Another old movie. 1954 (or 1953) to be semi-exact. Tried to keep awake through the whole of the movie. Yes, i survived.
--> Pulse = Thank God. A new one. Enter internet era. It was quite interesting even though the movie needs to be thought of. And luckily for me (inserted sadistic comment) I wasn't able to finish it. I had to go brush up my allergy.

Enter Saturday:
--> Haunted School = I think I saw the giant from Jack and the Beanstalk. I think I saw Donkey Kong. I think I saw Aliens. I think I saw the Predator. I think I saw the makings of another Michael Jackson.
--> Tomie: Rebirth = Oh yes. I vividly remember that we are going to watch a movie consisting of the horror spices. But what is it that I see? Blood. Broken Fingers. A walking head (Yes, a walking head with arms).

So, what is the moral of the story? I really don't know but I somehow enjoyed Pulse even though that I wasn't able to finish it. And amused by the Rebirth movie even though my eyes were telling me "close it" "close it". And thank God I wasn't able to snore loudly.

Where's the Grudge concept? Where's the Eye concept? Where's the Ring concept?

Napiga nang lahat.

Seen the Beerkada bunch earlier and I hope Mr. L uploads my shy pictures.

Yesterday was the best. I think two bottle of beer (/s... hehe) are on the way. Mr. allergy would you like to come fly with me and i'll push you off the plane? Oh pretty please?

Negatives are not welcomed...
