Of a funny story.

Mood: tired

Wow. It has been a while since my last post. Well, i'm back. I can't use the internet for the meantime because i'm using my pc for some cd burning stuff. I'll try to go to the cybercafe more often to update this blog.

Last Saturday, we celebrated the post-birthday of Mia and the pre-birthday of Eyen. It was fun. Me and Ais also had a "funny" story. Here it goes. We've decided to take a cab from Shangri-la to Astoria Cond-hotel. So, we hailed a cab and I told the driver "Ma, Astoria Hotel ho". The driver told me "Saan ho yun?". I didn't hear him say that so I've assumed that it was otherwise. After a few minutes, i've noticed that we we're going the wrong way. So, i'm still assuming that the cab driver knew where we're headed. After a few blocks, the cab stopped. We are now staring in a long line of motels in Pasig. How convenient. The manong driver thought that my gf and I are a couple of thrillseekers trying to make the night "bright". Irked, I told the driver to head back to Shangri-la. On the way to Astoria I told (actually it's read-my-text-on-my-cellphone) Ais to pay the wonderful man, fifty pesos. And then, when we got to Astoria we ended up paying the actual fare. We are really kind-hearted people. We just told ourselves that the taxi driver didn't really know where Astoria is.

Do I look like a sex-starved person?

By the way, thanks to Eyen and Mia (again) for the place, food, and booze. It really is fun to be with you guys (adding the usual barkada). Next year ulit.

Watched a lot of chismis shows yesterday and i've noticed that everything is the same bull. Sometimes, I just don't get it when most Pinoys end up enjoying television misery.

I feel harrased today, I don' know why...

Of clowns.

mood: tooth-achy

I didn’t go to work today. I’m going to the dentist for pasta. I know I wouldn’t like the pain involved with this but I have no choice. I should have taken care of my teeth when I was young. In case you’re wondering why pain is involved. The dentist has to carve the inner part of my tooth to remove some bad part. And since I’m very lucky, it has entered the nerve area. Aye Caramba.

There’s a new clown in town. Richard Gomez. He’s going to run for elections on 2007. Isn’t this fun? Who’s next? April Boy? Katya Santos? Pokwang? We’ll never know.

Wouldn’t it be nice if we don’t discriminate? This world would be a better place…

Of nonsense.

mood: coughy

Am I a television addict? I think i've spent most of my life watching shows on the boob tube. What if I become blind in some accident? Can I continue with my life? Just wondering.

The above thought tells me that I'm a materialistic person. I'm a person whose purpose is very shallow. Actually I can live without television. Lately, my antique (read: 13 year old) television died on me. It took months just for it to be fixed. Right now, I'm still stuck to my other materialistic-friend. My computer.

I think i'm with somebody right now...

Of cheap and weather.

mood: just awake

It is five in the morning and I am being waked up by the wonderful roosters of our neighbor. It is still cold outside but I could hear the whisper of the morning sun. Even though that February is fast approaching, I would always tell my mother "Ma, malapit nang mag-Pasko.". Why? Have you tried to go out during this ungodly hour? It is so freaking cold. I wonder what's the scientific explanation for this.

I love watching movies. But recently I had a fabulous idea. I don't have to watch movies in the big screen anymore. I just have to buy those pirated dvd's and vcd's. Cheaper price. I don't have to go inside a dark room. And I could watch it anytime. I just don't care about the wonders of the surround sound and the dolby and the thx and the wide screen showing of the movies. I just want to watch the movie and understand the story. Now, that's cheap talk.

Bring in the positive aura, out with the bad ones...

Of vcd's, QT, and work.

mood: awake

Looks like i'm back in business. I'll be selling some vcd's to my cousin. I just hope that the trading will push through. I don't need money for now but I could need it in the near future. Also, i'll be selling vcd's to a friend here in our village. See, looks like I really am back in business.

I just finished the three Quidditch tasks yesterday for our house. Looks like i'm the only person who is finished with the tasks. I hope that more students could finish the given tasks to complete our Quidditch team. Go fellow Huffs!

I've been busy with my work lately. Thank God. I'm planning my resignation. Am I doing the right thing? Is this the way to a better career? I just hope I could answer these questions. It's not that i'm not happy with my work but i feel that they could not help me grow as an individual and a professional. I really need to move on. I just hope that I could get a better work soon.

Of happiness and A.D.

mood: numb

I'm happy. I don't know why. I'm just happy. Maybe it's my aura. Or my optimism. Or the year 2005. Or my views in life. The reason could be none of them. Or all of them. Or just one of them. But still, I am just happy.

I did not enter the cyber realm for 36 hours and i get 33 mails. Whoa. A lot of mailers from Artist's Den. I just joined them recently. I know a handful of their members. Lyndon Gregorio, Ariel Atienza, Ryan Orosco, Azrael Coladilla, and Prof. Malfoy. I knew most of them by the reaching hands of Lyndon. Anyway, may the power of the A.D. people develop into something big. (Hey! They are big already. Tv gigs, radio gigs, school gigs, etc.)

Of Norah Jones and friendster.

mood: crazy

Norah Jones will be having a concert here in the Philippines on March 12, 2005. I know some people are waiting for her to come. That beautiful voice. That pretty face? But there is something wrong in the picture. Did you know that the Very VIP tickets of her concert costs almost 13,000 pesos and Upper Box A costs around 1,600 pesos. That's a lot of moolah for a singer who has around two to three famous songs. I don't get it. 220 dollars for a concert? As far as I can remember the only foreign artist who has the right to ask big is Michael Jackson. He is big. Unlike little Norah here, who only has the hits songs: Come Away With Me, Sunrise, and Don't Know Why has no right to ask big in a country like us. Yes, a struggling third world county who has many problems wherein entertainment is the only escape of our problems. We'll see if a lot of Filipinos would take the bait.

Friendster has a new lay-out. It looks very formal. I wonder what happened to the friendster fad. Maybe, the hype has ended. I think everybody is now a friendster of everybody. Now, if I ever had the chance to remove friendster in my life, will I do it? I think I won't. The effort of doing it will be wasted and i'm a sentimental person. So there, friendster is here to stay.

I feel not-so-empty, I wonder why...

Of weekends and porn star name.

mood: sleepy (as always)

I had a blast last weekend. Now, I can update my answer to "What is the craziest thing you've done lately?" question. Obviously, i won't write it here. Ever. Sorry folks. A very private matter. More private than Dolphy's sex life.

I've also bought some "pirated" dvd's last weekend. The titles that I got are Meet the Fockers, Exorcist the Beginning, and the Spongebob Squarepants Movie. Meet the Fockers is amusingly funny. A lot of sexually related jokes. Exorcist is just okay. Nothing new... well... the story... it's new... somehow. And the Spongebob movie, I was not so happy with it. The copy that I got was semi-working. The first 55 minutes of the film was ok. Until it happened. The movie hanged. Since i'm using it in our reliable dvd player, i'm assuming that the disc won't continue. So there, I have to buy a copy of it again in the near future. I should be sure that the movie will work from start to end if I ever buy it again.

Your Porn Star Name is: Larry Loverod

Yep. That's my porn name. Why is the name Larry related to sex? Just because of that famous game (Leisure Suit Larry)? or some sex god? Well, honestly i don't care. I'm Larry Loverod, the king of love-making. Nah. Dream on. If you want to check your porn name, click here.

Pissed: This is my second entry for the day. Due to a stupid isp problem that was encountered earlier. Hate them!...

Of php and entertainment.

mood: drowzy

The headmistress will be mad at me. I haven't done my part yet on the online magazine, T.S.A.R.M.D. I still haven't started yet. I'm getting writer's block these past few days that I can't think of anything that could be included in my article. If you are reading this right now, please give me some tips on the do's and dont's of wizard dating. I have around five tips in mind. I should come up with twenty, at least.

Rosanna R.'s daughter gave birth yesterday. I think it's a baby boy. Isn't it nice. Another headline for Rosanna. She's very happy that her daughter has been impregnated by Bong's son. She knows that her granddaughter can live a good future. Whore.

More entertainment news, D' Bodies versus D' Bodies. This is even bigger. The original D' Bodies group are at war with their former manager. And their former manager made a new D' Bodies group because of contract reasons. Now, baby, that's news. This should be placed on the front page of a broadsheet instead of Estrada's new found freedom. Our justice system here really sucks. I just don't get it, a "suspect" gets his wishes. How about the other "suspects"? They should also have the same privileges as Erap. What you can do with power and money. Next stop, Anarchy.

Now, one of the finest moments of my life. I've officially seen Mahal's shocking video. Get me a barf bag. Quick.

Of sleeping and nerding.

mood: numb

I'm still experiencing sleeping problems. Why? I've tried everything. I hate my body clock. I want to sleep for 6 hours straight. I just wish that later I could take a long nap.

I'm into nerd stuff right now. Try this cute easter egg on your Microsoft Excel 2000 program:
1. Open Excel 2000.
2. Choose File, Save As Web Page, Publish Sheet, and Add Interactivity.
3. Save to a .htm page on your drive.
4. Load the .htm page with Internet Explorer. You should have Excel in the middle of the page.
5. Scroll to row 2000, column WC by selecting row 2000 and tabbing so that WC is the active column.
6. Hold down Shift+Ctrl+Alt and click the Offic logo in the upper-left corner.
Use the arrow keys to drive, the spacebar to fire, and O to drop oil slicks. When it gets dark, use H for your headlights.
I got this from my nerdy book: Leo Laporte's 2003 Technology Almanac book. I got it for only 300 pesos at Booksale.

Of beggars and the government.

mood: coldy

I don't know if my mind is empty or if it's full of ideas. I'm losing focus again. Lately, this is a problem that i'm trying to cope up. I don't know how will I bring it back and what should I do about it. It happened only late last year. I really hope that this would disappear.

A few nights ago, coming home from work, me and my mom decided to fill our car with fuel. As we were filling it up a kid asked for alms. We are used to these type of situations. We don't give money or anything in that matter. The funny thing is that the kid asked us like this: "Pahingi po ng limang piso." Ain't this nice. I said to myself. A kid asking for a certain sum of money, as if that kid thinks that money comes from trees and we just have to pick it up there. My mom was aggressive: "I pangdra-drugs mo lang yan e. Tumabi ka dyan.". Then, we sped off. Leaving that dreamy kid with our pollution.

I just don't understand why we have this kind of system in the Philippines. Taxes go to the government and some departments can't do anything about the problems on their side. DENR, hello? Too much corruption? What happened to the supposed illegal loggers? Give us a break. A major revamp for DENR should be considered. DSWD, help? You guys need some help. You can't take in too much streetchildren and beggars? DEPED, come on. How about the quality of education? What happened? Almost every freaking child wants to be a celebrity. Too many questions, no answers. Or if they have answers, you can just print it on paper. No action. Also adding the Lateral Attrition Bill. Hay. We tax payers should be pitied.

I hope I could watch Amazing Race today...

Of after-effects and mama's boyism.

mood: still sleepy

After effect problems were felt by me and my mom yesterday. This is still about her birthday party held last Saturday. We've accepted the fact that a video version of the event would not suffice so we had to rely on the still pictures. But alas, when my mom developed it and checked the pictures, most of them were bad shots. These are the things that my mom and I can't control. We were both busy with other things that if ever such problems would rise we won't be able to tend to it. But we're still looking for the bright side. Hoping that the video tape would turn out ok. And editing of the pictures would be properly fixed. This will be a long week.

I had a tagger (a person who places reaction on my tag-board) who told me that i'm a mama's boy. I can accept that if that's your perception. But, I am not. My mom and I are really good friends. Almost all advices that i need are asked from her. I believe her intuition so much that when she decides on something, it will happen 99.99 %, I'll follow it if I find it right for me. I still believe that in order to live we must learn. And in order to learn we must get hurt. Also, we are like a team in our house. And we would talk about things, especially her past (stories! like Lola Basiang). And I'm one of her confidant. So there, I just want to take these out from my brain. I'm just a real Filipino, always has a say on everything.

Some information, my mom currently has these: diabetes, allergy problems, glaucoma, and something in her backbone that i can't remember which medical term it is. She is strong, right?

Condolences to my baby...

Of 3120, conventions, and parties.

mood: wuzzy

Finally. I got a new mobile phone. It's a Nokia 3120. Me ang my gf got it yesterday at SM Megamall. It was quite funny when we were canvassing for a phone. The first store that we went in told s that the price for the phone is Php 6900. Then, onto the the next store... Php 6800. After that, another store... Php 6700. Eventually we ended up in a store that sells the phone for Php 6500. I was slightly disappointed because a week ago this phone costs 100 peso cheaper. Anyway, after conquering the other stores, with prices of the phone ranging from Php 6900 to 7900, we finally went to the store that sells the phone cheapest. We asked the usual question, "Does it have a warranty?". And eventually, there is. So, without further adieu, we bought the phone and the cover of it is green. Animo!. I got a new phone! Yey!... worth it for waiting for five months...

The cellular phone comes with a chinese lingual manual. How nice. I have to go back to that store next week to replace it. Or maybe, learn Chinese in a few days.

I was also in the G2 convention yesterday. G2 stands for Games and Gadgets, I think. So, why does it contain the Artist's Den booth?

I've also bought a few stuff in the convention like a magazine, a beerkada shirt, a few Ariel comic compilations, and an internet card. There also was the traditional cosplay and found myself in the middle of "fans" of cosplayers. It was quite surprising how these people spend a lot of money just for a grand prize of Php 5000.

The birthday party of my mother was a blast, as i've expected, two days ago. We didn't encounter any major problems. Maybe the only minor problem of the night was a semi-defective microphone. But it didn't really matter, the event overshadowed it.

As i've said, me and my cousin Gracielle were the emcees for the night. I think we did pretty well with the hosting job. Multi-tasking was another form of occupation for me through the night. I was the emcee, floor director, driver, cameraman, utility guy, and financer. Well, it was all worth it. This effort is for my mother. And it is because i love her (aaawwww... very un-jay-r-istic).

The night went smooth even though it started late. The party's major enemy, traffic, strikes again. The program proper has it's highs and lows. Birthday messages for my mother overflowed and the addition of the last two messages were just added during the event. A "tita" of mine told my mother that the format of the husband giving the last message was nice and unique. Maybe, we've started a benchmark on birthday parties here.

The program lasted for around one and a half hours. The time was just right for a party. And after that dance music was next. The dance floor didn't really clicked. Maybe because the usual dancers, some of our relatives, had to go home after the program. That's okay. Attending the party was enough for us.

Kudos to the following:
- The Rave mobile. Even though that one of your microphones encountered some minor problems, it's fine with us. The payment for the mobile was "cheaper" than expected. New equipment were brought. And me and my mom were discussing if this is a band-owned company. Remember Rage band?
- The Catering. A "famous" chef went to the party. She's the Chocolate Lover's owner (my mom realy appreciates her presence). And she told my mom that the food of the caterer's were good. The fish spinach was yummy!
- The utility people. From the cleaning to the electrical people, thanks!
- Tita Jessie Leonardo. Thanks for the invocation / prayer. That was really enlightening.
- Ninang Nancy. Nice interview with my mom. You are so-kwela with my mom. Thanks a lot.
- Ate Jerlene. Thanks for the video camera!
- The singers of the night. Janice Sevilla (and Jing Sison), Aiza Gamboa, and the kin of Ate Cina. Thanks for the music. My mom really loved what you've done for her.
- The relatives. The party would not be complete if the whole clan (my mother's side) was not there. Thank you very much for the small time that you gave my mother. And the gifts also, hehe.
- To my Girlfriend. Wow, thanks a lot baby. Spending your time here in our house for the Cd-making to the Cd-giving in the pavilion. You're the best!... and i'm the beauty?

All in all, the party was perfect. The climate followed. The food was good. The music was nice. Gifts were overflowing (my mom a got a total of 50+ gifts... like a debutante noh?). What more can you ask for?

Pictures will be posted in the "near" future. Regarding the vcd version of the party, it will be quite questionable. Some minor setbacks was encountered. I'm praying that the important parts of the party was saved in the video tape.

It's Monday once again kids. Expect heavy traffic...

Of HT's and par-teys.

mood: uneasy

I got a Top 3 finish on the Rusher's Hot Ten yesterday. I was the person who texted about the thread on the neck. If you happen to listen to yesterday's Hot Ten, you know what i mean. And FYI, I did not make fun of my friend. It was modified with Chico's taste.

1 day to go. I hope it will be a blast tomorrow. I hope...

Of rain and L.O.B.

mood: clear-headed

2 days to go till my mom's par-tey. I'm some kinda excited here. I just wish that nothing would go wrong. I'm offering the song Rain, Rain Go Away for the said event.

I was watching Laban O Bawi earlier (how hologs!) and the last two contestants' last name's were Mabilog and Majaba. The funny thing is that the person who has the surname Mabilog was thin and vice-versa. Nice.

Mom! Happy Birthday!!!!...

Of Tech Tv and hosting.

mood: sleepy

I bought a two-year old book by Leo Laporte. If you don't know him, he's the chubby (oldie) guy at Tech Tv. The title of the book is Leo Laporte's 2003 Technology Almanac. I've just started reading and I think I will like the book. It's very informative and i'm such a computer geek (yeah, yeah the glasses is a given.).

Three days to go before my mom's birthday. I will be the host for the night. Actually, it's we. Me and my cousin, Gracielle. I just hope nothing would go wrong. Me and my mom are still planning and preparing. I could say that it is around 80% complete. Pictures for the said event will be posted soon. So keep posted!

Of pigs and ogres.

mood: hurried

I'm in a hurry right now. I'll be talking to my gf through the phone after I finish this post. So, i'll be doing this in a minute (or two... or three... up to infinity).

I got the latest Pugad Baboy. That's Pugad Baboy 17. It was fun reading it for the first time (because i'll read it again and again ~up to infinity~). A funny thing happened when I got it from Megamall last Sunday. Me and my mom went to National Bookstore to buy stuff for ourselves. I told her that we have to separate for a minute and i'll just look for her. So, there i am looking at the humor section and I couldn't find any Pugad Baboy 17. When i gave up looking for it. A guy appeared at my back looking at something. I assumed that we were looking for the same thing. That's it. I find that funny. I didn't even ask any assistance from the employees of NBS. I thought to myself that Comic Quest sure has this compilation. And I was right. It took me a minute in the CQ store while it took me around 10 minutes in NBS. Nice.

My mom got an original dvd of Shrek 2. The difference is it's free from HP printers. And I was just "wowed" with it. Also, the dvd version of the movie is very cool. As in ice-cold-cool. There was a different ending. They included a "Far, Far Away Idol" at the end of the movie. And it was funnee. If you want to check it out, you have to get borrow it from me.

I found out that 100 is not enough. It doesnt't matter. I'll just make this a basis to all the things that i'll do in 2005. And this list is not my New Year's resolution. I don't believe in that. If you're going to do something and you have doubts about it, do it. It doesn't hurt to try.

I can't believe that some people don't know when Bataan Day is. I find it pathetic when simple holidays are being forgotten...

Of laziness, Cd's, and malling.

Mood: Sleepy

I'm a lazy, lazy person. I promised myself yesterday that i'll be posting here some things to do this year. And obviously, i haven't. What a way to start this sunny year. Oh well. I'll post it tomorrow. Hehe.

In fairness, i've been very busy the whole day. I'm helping my mom with her give-aways for her birthday this coming Saturday. She's turning 50 and she wants the affair to be very special. I've been burning Cd's the whole day and the process is slow. Average of 12 minutes per Cd and I have to finish around 80 Cd's. Nice. Hopefully by Wednesday... this will be finished.

My mom and I went to Greenhills and found out that Virra Mall is *bleep*ing closed. We were going to buy some blank Cd's. We ended up in Megamall. If I only knew this... curse the system! (Now, where did that come from?)

Of a new year and a rooster.

Mood: Excited

Wow. My first attempt on a "real" blog. My previous blog was not really a blog, sort-of. I call it a test site or a site to practice html. I've stopped during the middle of the year because it is really time-consuming and the availability of resources is very scarce.

Since the rooster came in just an hour and a half ago, technically it will occur on February, I am quite sure that this year would be a fine year. Most astrologists say that this year would be fruitful IF you work hard.

I'm trying to make a list for 2005. I'll just post it tomorrow. I'm still thinking on what to include.

So, 2005 here i come...
